Longtan Temple Fair at Spring Festival
On the 30th
day of the 12th month to the 6th day of the 1st of month of the
lunar year.
Longtan (Dragon
Pool) Park in Chongwen District, Beijing Main activities of the
temple fair: drama, acrobatics, music, dance and other theatrical
performances, cock fighting, dog taming, donkey riding, sitting
in gaily decorated sedan chairs, animal taming and other folklore
activities; various entertainment and sports performances; riding
on ice, dog pulling a plough, sheep pulling a dragon boat, watching
winter swimming by breaking the ice, and figure skating.
In the temple
fair you can taste numerous kinds of local snacks, court food
and other dishes.
