The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) in a department handling international and domestic air transportation. China's civil aviation planes include various types manufactured by Boeing, McDonnell Douglas and the European Airbus.

At present, over 750 domestic, nearly 100 international and 21 regional air routes have been opened. There are links with 58 cities in 39 countries and regions, with regular flights each week. With Beijing as the hub, domestic airlines crisscross the whole country to 136 cities. Air China in one of the safest in the world.

In the major cities in China, air ticket booking in connected to a computer joint network. Plane ticket booking is available at all civil aviation ticket offices, travel agencies and restaurants.
